Our desire is to make diagnostics that are useful in all markets of the world. This desire drives our company philosophy:
Constraint Based Innovation: GE and others have coined the term ‘Constraint Based Innovation.’ This refers to the process of designing up-front with the end user’s constraints in mind. This is especially important with respect to the global infectious disease market. Consequently, we design our test to meet the needs parameters of the global market, which often means low-resource settings with severe constraints. We know that if we can design products that are useful in those settings, then they will be useful “up-market” in more developed healthcare settings as well.
Collaborative Partnerships: We have created collaborative relationships with global healthcare leaders located at such institutions as the World Health Organization’s Global Laboratory Initiative, the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND), Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), the US CDC, Partners in Health and others to ensure that we understand the needs and constraints of the global infectious disease market.
Global Thinking: We have established an office in Daresbury, England on the Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus and have utilized that office to create a global footprint with business relationships and professional advisors that give us reach into the Middle East, Africa and Asia, to best understand and prepare for global business activity.
